Adi Kailash & Om Parvat Yatra
Overview
Tucked away in the eastern reaches of Uttarakhand near the Indo-Tibet border lies one of the holiest yet least-known pilgrimages in the Hindu world — Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. Often called "Chhota Kailash," Adi Kailash rises serenely above the Parvati Sarovar where the snow-clad peak reflects in the still mountain water, recreating the cosmic image of Lord Shiva's celestial abode. A short distance away, the natural snow-formed Om symbol on Om Parvat is regarded as a direct manifestation of the divine. This 7-day yatra, operated in association with Kailash Darshan Trek, takes you from Haldwani through breathtaking Himalayan villages — Bhimtal, Pithoragarh, Dharchula, Nabi, and Kuti — past sacred sites like Neem Karoli Baba's Kainchi Dham, Jageshwar, Patal Bhuvneshwar, Kalapani, and the Vyas Gufa. Inner-line permits, medical clearance, mountain homestays, and a small backpack-friendly group format make this a deeply spiritual yet well-supported high-altitude experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, this is a high-altitude yatra reaching up to 4,700 m at Jollingkong. The drives are long and the roads narrow and winding. The Parvati Temple from Jollingkong involves a 2.5 km trek. Travellers should be in reasonable health, free of severe heart or lung conditions, and acclimatise slowly. A medical fitness certificate is mandatory and a check-up is arranged at Dharchula.
The base price is Rs 31,500 per person. For groups of more than 10 travellers the price reduces to Rs 29,500 per person. A 1-day extension to the Mt. Kailash View Point is available at an additional Rs 5,000 per person.
Carry warm clothes (thermals, fleece, down jacket, woollen cap, gloves), sturdy sports / trekking shoes, an umbrella or raincoat for sudden mountain rain, a reusable water bottle or thermos, basic personal medication, sunscreen, and a small backpack for daily essentials separate from your main luggage. We carry only small backpacks during the inner valley sections.
The Vyas valley (Nabi, Kuti, Jollingkong, Navidhang) is a restricted border area requiring an inner-line permit. We process this for all guests at Dharchula on Day 2 along with the mandatory medical check-up. Please carry original Aadhaar card, two passport-size photos and copies of your ID. Foreign nationals require a separate Protected Area Permit — please notify us at booking.
If the yatra completes on schedule, the 7th night is provided in Kathgodam / Haldwani. If we are unable to make it back on time due to weather, road conditions or fitness pace, an additional night stay is arranged in Nabi village and the rest of the schedule is adjusted accordingly. Safety always takes precedence over schedule.
The Adi Kailash and Om Parvat yatra is generally operated between May and October when the high-altitude passes and inner-line zones are accessible. The monsoon months (July-August) carry landslide risk on mountain roads. May-June and September-October offer the most stable weather and clearest mountain views.
